Started B1 4g 2x daily, reduced to 2 gr as per Dr.C. Still not feeling great . Not sure if it could be the dosage or the stress and other problems I have had. Any thoughts. Thank you.
B1: Started B1 4g 2x daily, reduced to 2 gr... - Cure Parkinson's
B1
I had problems too finding the right dose, and accompanying supplements since March, but I think I improved my situation by adding magnesium during the day, and cutting 4 GMS B1 to 2. I take D a few times a week, and 1 super B complex with minerals 1x weekly. I finally feel some energy.
Thank you can u tell what kind of magnesium?
I'm taking Solray mg l theonate, but I think there's a better one listed on this site some where.
Re the B1, while I initially didn't get energy, there were changes in balance, muscle pain, and rigedity.
Hi KERRINGTON,
I was wondering if you can add your thiamine experience to the thread about people who are testing thiamine out? I realize you are still testing it out, but you can comeback at anytime and "Reply" to your original post to update it as you go!Here is the link to that thread:

Thank you!

Sure ! I'll work on it tonight...I have your directions.
Do any other vit make you feel less than great? Without thiamin HCI all your left with is Parkinson progression.
Once again we may be left with that old Bugaboo that we are all different and respond to meds, supplements, etcetera in a different way. I have been taking the B1 for at least a month at recommended dosage plus magnesium and so on and have not noticed a difference. I'm going to hang in there with it because I bought it and don't want to waste the money and who knows.....
We all want immediate results to correct a problem that's been developing over several (in some cases many) years. I don't think we can expect results in a month, and I think 3 months minimum is what most of us will require before we can expect results in the major symptoms. I started about 3 weeks ago and had a set-back requiring me to stop for a week and restart at a lower dose. I was certainly disappointed, but intend to persevere as I'm trying to correct a problem that I've had symptoms of for probably 15 years! We have to just go with the theory that 'slow and steady wins the race!'
What Enidah wrote makes sense. I took B1 injections for almost four months and while I may have experienced some initial improvement, I believe it also made my dyskinesia substantially worse. I tested this by going off for a time and trying again taking oral thiamine HCl. It is disappointing not to have the positive response that some here have gotten, but please know you are not the only one.
cincinnato,
Can you please make a post about your results from using thiamine on the following thread:

Thank you for your time!

The intestine can absorbe only up to 5 mg at a time .the rest will be secreted in the urine so whats the sence of taking 2×2g aday.did you see research on B1 other then Dr C.
The gut absorption is more complicated than you have stated See this

And the previous thread on just this topic
Art,
My husband had the first B1 injection last Friday, second one tomorrow.
I have a question regarding Vit B complex. Can he add a Vit B complex with low B6 to his protocol? It's a little confusing because Dr. C. didn't recommend stopping all other vitamins my husband was taking. Yet, he (Dr. C.) advises other patients to stop all other vitamins and supplements. Aslo, I got B3 Nicotinamide Riboside 250mg and am wondering if I can just add B3 and skip the rest of B complex.
Anyone who can enlighten me would be very much appreciated.
Despe,
It would be helpful if you do not add anything to the current regimen and be sure and let Dr. C know ""everything"" your husband is currently taking. I would wait two months minimum to add anything in the way of more supplements. The reason for this is so when you report back to Dr. C about your husband, he will be able to know exactly what effect the B1 is having. The other supplements that you want to add may confuse the picture for the doctor. At two months+ he should have your husband stabilized on a correct dose and all of you will be able to then clearly see any added effects from other supplements. Personally I think three months+ would be a better time period to wait until you add anything else and the reason for this is because at two months, it is possible that you will still get more benefit from B1.
I know it can be tempting to add other supplements to try and improve on the B1 effects, but in the bigger picture, it will be more important to know what each supplement is doing and this means adding one at a time and giving each supplement enough time to show what it can or can't do. You have already gotten a glimpse of what thiamine alone can do, but at this very early stage, you do not yet know if that is all it can do. If you add all of these new supplements at the same time, you will never really know for sure which one is doing what!
Be patient in knowing that you are on the right track and let the big picture evolve in a way that will be clear for you to understand what is doing what for your husband.
Lastly, and I know you already know this, do not hesitate to contact the doctor if you have any questions or concerns! I think Dr. C wants your husband to get better just as you do!

and Despe, one other thing. If you put a post up like this one you just sent , please make it a "reply" to one of my posts, otherwise I will not be notified that you sent it and I might miss it as I would have this one, except another forum member let me know that you had a question.

Thank you, Art! Appreciate your insight. Dr. C. wrote that my husband can continue his supplements protocol along with the B1 protocol, and that's why I got confused. Maybe I should blame the google translation regarding Dr. C's answer.
Yes, you're right. From now on I will use your posts to provide feedback, updates, or questions. Sorry.
