One additional source of B1, thiamine hcl capsules:

You can try to use a preparation of vitamin b1 pure, without any excipient in case the patient is not allergic to thiamine but to the substances that are used to compact it in the capsules or tablets. To us in Italy provides the pharmacy Severi of Grosseto that assured me that can ship it worldwide and I assure you at good prices. Contact them directly for information from them on their pure thiamine. Below is the email address.

The following is direct from the pharmacy to Dr. Costantini :

Dear Antonio, I'm going to give you the following words in English that you requested for your Anglo-Saxon patients: "Our Pharmacy prepares capsules of Vitamin B1 (Thiamine) in the prescribed dosages. The preparations is carried out with exclusively pure Thiamine (100%) without any added excipient. For more information, write an email to: info@farmaciaseveri.com "If you think you need to add something, just let me know. Cordiali salutiAndrea Severi

Theyakin,

If you are just starting B-1 for the first time, it is generally easier to start with capsules or tablets, to make sure that you are taking a consistent dose until you find your correct dose for you. Then you can switch to the powder. The powder will require a digital scale to accurately get your dose right each time. Here is a link to information about HDT/B-1 which will answer most questions you may have about B-1.

Anyone contemplating using the powder should be aware it is extremely bitter.

Does the bottle has to say hcl? what does that mean?

Thank you

If the thiamine molecule were allowed to wander about unadorned it would attract way too much attention from lonely free radicals. So it needs a molecular chaperone. HCl is one, nitrate is another. Doctor Costantini's group favors the HCl version because it does not bioaccumulate.

You could try G&G Vitamins B1 500 mg direct or via Amazon. These capsules are pure and UK made. I’ve been happy with them.

amazon.co.uk/dp/B000Z90BR8#... it seems if you read customer comments solgar are not hcl. Will that mean I would be wasting my time taking them ?

The bottle in the back indicates hcl which is the right form.

Despe is exactly right. On the back of the bottle, it says HCl right on the label. They are big tablets, but I have been taking Solgar brand for two years. Good luck!

Have they helped you

Yes, I believe it has helped with my energy level, among other things. I have been taking it since the month I was diagnosed, but I take so many supplements and vitamins that I can't attribute any particular benefit to any particular vitamin or supplement. See my profile for more information about what I take.

Hi, I found Allithiamine (Vitamin B1), 50 mg, 250 Capsules are worked best for my mom. She is on years now. She try Solgar 500mg HCL as well but just wasn't right for her.

Allithiamine has Less sensitiveness for the human system, and the body tolerates really good and works just as good then Solgar HCL and even way better and quicker result.

Hope this helped.. Good luck!
