I'm going to be in Rome next week. Anyone have email or phone for Dr. Costantini in Viterbo so I could try for a consultation about my Parkinson's condition and B1 treatment? Thanks

many thanks for the contact info. I have an appt. next Thursday. Any questions anyone wants me to ask the Doctor?

Also any travel tips for the journey from Rome to Viterbo? I'm thinking of going the afternoon before my appt. and staying overnight.

1. Someone posted he does not recommend taking thiamine with citrus juice. Is this true? Any other dietary restrictions?

2. Someone posted he recommends supplementing with eight milligrams of folinic acid daily. Are there any other supplements he recommends taking?

3. Reasons to vary the oral dose, such as by weight of patient.

It would be every beneficial for all concerned to be well informed on these issues.

in reply topark_bear

park bear,

In emails with Dr. Costantini, I asked him whether my friend could mix his bulk thiamine powder in Gatorade and he said it would not be a problem, but to avoid citrus juices.........similarly as with some prescription meds.

I never discussed the folinic acid with him and he did not suggest it, but that was months ago.......things could have changed since then.

As far as reasons to vary the thiamine dose, he told me that sometimes after continued use at a set dose, it may be necessary to adjust the dose down if any symptoms seem to worsen. He told me that this might be because the requirement may decline in some situations. He also said sometimes it is necessary to increase certain of the prescription meds also.

Although Dr. Costantini's protocol is relatively simple, it can still require adjusting in order to achieve optimal results and that is why it is useful to stay in touch with him while you are on his protocol. He always wants updates whenever "any" changes are noted.

I had thought about asking doc C to write a book, maybe a small manual with some basic theory on treatment, history, protocol and some case examples on the restorative solution of various neurodegerative diseases with thiamine .. hcl; so that everyone had a direct reference here, but then I did not do it.Everyone would continue to ask questions because it's too simple, and then we like talk about too and help others.:-)

and is very very beatifull to see .

I love you,the most beautiful people at world.🌷

He told me about folic acid (different then folinic acid), maybe was just his English as I heard the folinic acid helps PwP. As far as citrus I was not aware but I'll stop eating oranges (two a day) if that's the case.

Email form dr, Constantini below:

.... the only thiamine is enough for the therapy. We usually add the other vitamins group B when we don't obtain the desidered result. By the way, i think it could be helpful in your case to take a dose of all the other vitamins group b, folic acid also, equivalent to the daily RDA. We give thiamine on empty stomach, in the morning and at lunch time.

I'll try onion very soon myself! I have never experienced it with my patients but on the net, in Italian too, we can find a lot of reports about the relation between onion and sleep!

Remember that the right dose stops completely the disease progression, so you have to take a short videotape of all your motor activities so that you can have a reference for the future: you can send that video to us if you agree.

Kind regards,

Antonio

Would you please ask if Dr. Constantini sees patients who have Atypical Parkinson's, like Corticobasal Degeneration (CBD)? I'd love to know if he recommends his B1 therapy for those who have more than the usual Parkinson's!

The most important thing is to take a train that goes to the Viterbo station of Porta Fiorentina and you will be at 200 meters from the hotel and 250 meters from the center of Costantini. From Rome you take a train that goes to Florence, with many tourists, but you have to go down first to Orte or Attigliano and change line to Viterbo station Porta Fiorentina that leaves every hour around. The best routes start in the morning from Roma Termini, so you can change only two trains instead of three. This is what I did, but there are other ways.

Return to Rome very early in the morning with no change. There is also an app of Trenitalia here very usefull.

So envious! Wish we could all go with you!

Is there anything we need to eliminate from our diets to enhance the thiamine HCL?

Please post what you learn from Dr. Costantini - all help is appreciated!

in reply toSpringfield78

Dr. Costantini said alcohol will deplete thiamine quickly and based on my friends response after drinking alcohol, I would say that is very accurate information!

Hi. Springfield

maybe you've already read it in my previous post, but here it is again the transcription of a short answer of the doctor quite illuminating and simple on the b1.
