Welcome, Ernie

Be very precise with the dose. It is essential.

Very good idea. I use a jeweler's scale that I bought on Amazon for under $20.

Good luck! My husband has had three B1 IM injections, so far so good. I will give an update in a month.

Ordered B1 vials from Germany. Didn't clear customs as FDA prohibits import from Europe. Fortunately, I was able to get them from a compounding pharmacy (thanks Julie) in California.

Just a thought about the use of powder thiamine. Initially, it may be easier to use the capsules or pills during this period where you are trying to establish the correct dose of thiamine for you. The pills or capsules will keep it simple and make adjustments easy. Once you have found your correct dose and perform the pull test satisfactorily, then you can experiment with the pure powder form. I think if the powder form is doable for you, then it may be useful to use both capsules and the powder form. The powder form when you are home and it is convenient to mix it up and the capsules for when you are out and about or traveling, both for the sake of convenience.

Powder is the way to go unless , like me, u have so many other powders already! Like Easilly /Art says, maybe a) powder for standardizing and b) pills for routine or travel. My smoothies have lots of different powders already —this would be easy and cost effective to add. What’s your status on this Protocol so far, Ernie?

Erniediaz1018 profile image
Erniediaz1018 in reply toAmyLindy

Yes I do all powder so far about 15 herbs + MP, magnesium all powder. Although I went away for two weeks recently and I decided to use sinemet and gabapentin which worked really well, but my fear is long term use side effects.

UPDATE

Erniediaz1018 profile image

Here's the update. After taking 4 grams of B1 for three weeks now on day sixteen I ate eggs and pancakes for lunch and my dyskinesia was through the roof. But yesterday on day 17, my on time seems to have been extended by an hour and change and barely noticeable dyskinesia and today day 18 has been an even better day. I can actually sense the positive effects the B1 is having on keeping the dyskinesia at bay and extending my on time and relief of fatigue and increase of energy. I've actually felt like increasing the dosage in hope of getting even better results, but I'll wait to see what Dr C says, I'll write him tomorrow.
