I have read following a very low carb diet like the Keto diet helps many of the symptoms of PD. Has anyone had that personal experience? If so how strict were you regarding the carbs?

We have been adhering about 90% to the Keto for about a year. Plus, we reduced by 90% red meat, bread, dairy, sugar, lectins, gluten, processed food, and fried food. Problem is, if it's helping, there's no way to know that. Nutritional changes are not likely to produce dramatic changes, such as diminishing tremor. It might slow the progression, but there's no way of knowing that either.
I'm on the 'plant Paradox' diet that is promoted by Dr. Steven Gundry. It is an organic, low carb, low lectin, low protein diet. I've been on it for about 6 months. It has enabled me to keep off excess body wait and has helped my overall g.I. health. This diet purportedly will help correct leaky gut issues too. I'm pleased with the results so far and plan to continue with it.
My husband is following a mildly ketogenic diet which involves taking 75g coconut oil per day and up to 100g net carbs per day. He believes it helps, and there is also the hope that it may be slowing the progression of PD. I have more details on my profile. Just click my picture to read it if you wish.
