I do, Fordy.

I take amitryptiline, which is a pain killer, an old tricyclic anti depressant and... has pretty good chances to be active against PD.

Xenos,

Did you choose away from nortriptyline?

I did not have the choice Aspergerian : nortryptiline is not available anymore where I live. It has been replaced by amitriptilyne and both are considered "old" molecules.

The best anti-depressant is EXERCISE!

If you have Pd and you get depression, as I have done since the mid 70's then look at my profile and see what I did to overcome my Pd. I still get a little depressed, but my walking keeps it under control.

A Borage Oil capsule (sometimes called Star Oil after its little blue star shaped flowers) every now and again lifts my spirits (and it apparently helps improve Kidney function so I understand from previous Internet research)

I was on welbuterine for several years and just lately was debating whether or not I wanted to keep it going when I suddenly had an insurance issue and couldn't get the meds until that issue got cleared up. (About a week.) I believe its recommended to gradually wean off, but that wasn't what the situation allowed. As it turned out - wow - I feel sooo much better without them now! I agree with John - exercise is the key! I have been walking for an hour every day for the last few years and can really see a huge difference during the rare times that the weather is freezing or otherwise bad and I can't walk!

Very tricky. Some people do well, others disaster. We had the disaster with resulting hallucinations which took 6 months to clear his system(read my other posts). After 15 years of depression, we discovered l-theanine, an amino acid found in green tea. See other posts.

Are you careful about not eating foods with soy? My Mom was on selegiline, she thought it caused her to have hallucinations and the soy issue was a big problem, as some many foods have soy in some format in them
