How humbling to meet you! I'm 68 ,diagnosed 4 and a half years.

Having Parkinsons is an inconvienience for me but I am not living with PD, it's living with me.

Living life on the slow train now still doing everything but just takes a little longer!

I agree , I manage to do most things I attempt sometimes a little slowly ...but I get there in the end !

What progressed you to brain stimulation?

Bionicmatt profile image
Bionicmatt in reply toJuliachq

Hi Julia ,

My consultant suggested the outcome of surgery would improve my ability to control the ups and downs of my Parkinson's - I'd had PD for 30 years by then and trusted my consultants advice implicitly - I don't regret it

I got my official diagnosis in May 2014, but looking back I know I had it much longer!!

How do you do it? Do you ever get depressed? Are you married? I am amazed at how great you look! Happy Thanksgiving to you!!

Hi Matt, and a warm welcome. You sure have a bionic smile! This group is terrific -- I've found it to be a wealth of wisdom, information, support, kinship, and yes, even wit, and I hope you will too.

You're encouragement for many. What type of exercise do you do?

Bionicmatt profile image
Bionicmatt

hi, I try and get out and about as much as i can and engage with lots of different people . I guess that's mental exercise as much as anything but regarding physical exercise ....when i am off and struggling to stand the effort in doing that several times a day keeps me reasonably fit i guess
