Friend had DBS. Suffered stroke and loss of left side In rehab now. She has severe dyskinesia from Parkinson's drugs which is why she had the surgery. Anyone experience this?

PD meds do not cause dyskinesia. The PD advances in spite of taking the drugs. So it seems like the drugs caused it but that is not the case and you would still have the dyskinesia if you had taken no drugs.

Sorry to disagree with you, but if you look up side effects of Sinemet and Requip, you will find that, in fact, they do cause dyskenesia. Twenty minutes after my friend takes her medication, the movements occur, sometimes lasting for an hour or more. When she does not take them, she suffers stiffness and extreme difficulty in walking.

The following side effects may occur while taking carbidopa / levodopa,

More common:

Twitching, twisting, uncontrolled repetitive movements of the tongue, lips, face, arms, or legs
