Just stumbled onto this.

My tremors (I am NOT dx'd with PD) in my left hand has been increasing so (like all of us) I'm looking for treatment.

Sorry to hear your left hand tremor is increasing. Have you shared your stack? Have you cut out gluten and lectins? Sorry to pry. I just want to see if maybe there is some things you have not considered (I know that seems unlikely). Please reach out if you ever want to chat.

thanks for asking, you're not prying ...

yup increasing ... very very minutely .... still almost 'no' visible tremors ... but now the tremors seem to 'localize' in the 'web' of my left hand and under my thumb ... last night the "internal tremors" in that area were pretty constant ... but I was able to interrupt them with my electric massager ... annoying right now, but not life style altering....

------------------------------------

today is O.M.A.D. #448 (one meal a day) and during this time I have given up:

1. all processed foods

2. gluten

3. sugar (except from fruits)

4. I did eat 'dairy' (cottage cheese, cheese, milk for about 3 weeks) over a period of 4 months -- but recently have given up ALL dairy

-------------------------------------------------------

by wednesday I'll be back on a super-low carb diet (I have 2 sweet potatoes left, LOL)

I'm not planning on a keto diet ... but I'm going to do "extended fasts" of 36 hours...

i tinkered with that last week and 3 days in a row i did a 41 hour ... then 37 hour... then 31 hour... back to back to back fast.... it was really no big deal and easy to do

------------------------------------------------------

i'm doing more hand strengthening exercises ...

I did 30 minutes on my in-door bike today and I plan on resuming my bike/hikes to the beach (12.5 miles round trip) ....

----------------------------------------------------

I did my sauna for 90 minutes -- but I still had dozens of "internal tremors" in that left thumb area

-------------------------------------------------

i live not far from the beach and we've had nothing but CLOUDS for months... interspersed with some sun here and there ... so for the last 3 days in a row -- I've gotten "sun"

-------------------------------------------------

i've been tinkering with my "stack" and I was up to around 40 supplements and powders

but when my symptoms picked up the last 30 days ... I ditched the whole stack ... for about a week ... that didn't help either ... so I've added back about '5' of them (magnesium, multi-minerals, d3, tumeric and I always take a tablespoon of cod liver oil for the omega 3s

------------------------------------------

believe me ... when i read about the horrors that many others are suffering from ...

i consider myself pretty damn lucky so far (my first tremor was my left thumb visibly moving June 20, 2021)

so this is just about my 2nd year anniversary

LOL

I so don't want to jinx myself, or pretend I have answers, but I seem to be gradually, very slowly, improving. I have not been diagnosed with PD. I have REM Sleep Behavior Disorder and when I joined this group 2 years ago I also had a sore neck and sore left shoulder and back and left upper leg, face dandruff, mild balance issues, formication (feeling like bugs were crawling on my lower legs), lack of pep in my step, a splotchy tongue (for the last 25 years), almost no sense of smell (occasionally I would have olfactory hallucinations) poo problems, and random involuntary muscle movements (not enough that anyone, even my wife, has ever noticed).

Two years later I am down to:

- RBD, but not nearly as bad as it used to be. I used to fall out of bed, hit walls, throw pillows, kick at enemies. Now I occasionally move an arm or leg.

- My left should is still a little sore. So is my left leg. Not as bad as it used to be. My neck seems fine and the left side of my back seems to be okay.

- My sense of smell is still pretty bad, but I find myself smelling nature plant smells and some food smells. No more olfactory hallucinations.

- Balance is fine, face dandruff is gone, formication seems to be gone, I have pep in my step, my tongue looks good, poo is fairly normal, and my random movements are down.

I don't know why I seem to be improving. Maybe it is because I went ahead an retired 2 years ago and removed a lot of stress from my life. Maybe it is just because it is summer. Maybe with PD these symptoms just come and go and I am at a "gone" point for some of them.

Maybe it has to do with my stack rbd-pd-protocols.blogspot.c...

Three things about my stack:

- I stopped taking Vinpocetine. I still think it might be helpful, I just try to set a limit on how many supplements I take and Vinpocetine lost out to other options.

- The only meat I eat, and I eat a good amount of meat, is beef. I eat beef because it is a ruminant meat. Cows have 4 stomachs to purify their food before it becomes muscle. I think if you eat chicken and pork you are eating corn.

- I don't eat lectins. This include corn syrup which is in many sweets. If I have sweets, it is either sugar or honey.

I should mention I have a nasty Pepsi (made with Real Sugar!) habit. It does not seem to be hurting me as far as my symptoms. I would not be surprised if it is helping. The brain needs glucose. But diabetes is probably in my future if I don't get a grip on this.

Good luck and most importantly: I hope I did not jinx myself (I will update this post if I take a turn for the worse [please don't jinx myself]).

I am going to update my stack to add the "whys" for each one. You can probably find them in HU if you search.
