I think it might be fun to gather everyone's ideas for making coconut oil an attractive part of the diet into one post. My hope is that this is a Recipe Post and not a place for strutting your stuff, , or debating about Angels on the head of a pin. Lighten Up; Have Fun!
0. Butter Substitute.
At the table: Mix 2T Coconut oil into hot cereal, mashed potatoes (squash etc.) or into pasta sauce.
Science Demonstration.
Step 1.
Blend 2 T CO into 1/3 cup warm water:
Result is warm oil-water immersion.
Blend mixture with six ice cubes:
Result is a hunk of solid wet coconut oil.
Step 2.
Blend 2 T CO into 1/3 cup warm skim milk:
Result is a warm CO-milk immersion.
Blend mixture with six ice cubes:
Result is a cold CO-milk immersion.
1. Recipe. Coconut Oil Iced flavored drink.
Prepare a cold CO-milk immersion as above.
Add your favorite flavoring and a more ice.
Blend until ice has been reduced to slush.
(Good for iced coffee, fruit slushee, cold protein drink, etc.)
2. Recipe. Coconut Oil Italian ice.
Prepare above recipe with enough Ice to create a thick slush.
Place in freezer for about one hour, until it forms a soft solid.
3. Recipe. Economy F4T. ($.10 PER OZ)
Combine equal amounts of water, MCT oil, CO
Add sugar and fruit juice to taste. Blend thoroughly.
Measure into 2.5 ounce bottles. Refrigerate.
(This emulsion may separate over time. Use skim milk instead of water in the first step to obtain a more stable emulsion.)
4. CO on the GO.
Pour 1 oz melted CO into 1.5 oz bottles.
Place a Ziploc plastic bag to carry in purse, travel bag, etc.
If solidified melt in 1/2 cup hot water before use.
