Has any body been fob off with some thing like I have .

I order Movicol plan for constipation and got Laxido , when I phone up . I was told its the same , BUT IS IT. MOVICOL is a (POM) were laxido is only a (P) And half the price.

I said I wanted movicol which they said they would send.

I cannot tolerate taking movicol but at least I did get the real thing.

I'm taking aloe Vera senna, dococyl and natural yogurt and plenty of fluids.but i don't refuse dynamite ! picilax is a medication used to empty the contents prior to surgery for gastric , intestinal or treatments such as barium enema's etc Even that takes me a few days to take effect . I know its bad but when I no longer hear my tummy gurgle I know its time to take it. After all 3 weeks a more is too long to wait.

I started on Movicol, then I was prescribed Laxido. I currently have both and I checked the ingredients - they are exactly the same.

Not sure what the problem is?

HI Jupeter..

I think if you look at the ingredients again you well see Movicol has 50.2 potassium chioride . Were the Laxido only has 46.6mg Which may not sound a lot but as it is the main ingredient. That is a problem to me.

On the ingrediants of Movicol and Laxido the amount of Potassium Chioride is showing as exactly the same which is 46.6mg. I am still concerned on whether the Laxido is as good as the Movicol as it is a very cheap copy of the real thing. My son has just started laxido today after being prescribed Movicol by the hospital. I will be closely monitering this medication.

Great question! I've always had a slow digestive track, even as a child. We'd eat corn for dinner one night and the rest of the family joked about seeing the "second harvest" in the toilet the following day, no visible corn for me for another week...

I had a colonoscopy when I turned 50 and the prescription laxatives did not move me at all. On the day before my "screen audition" I told the nurse of not having any luck and they sent me back to the pharmacist to get the "industrial strength" foul tasting goop and a gallon jug to mix it in. I felt incredulous...I'm not supposed to drink a gallon of this junk am I??? "Yes" both the pharmacist and the gastroenterologist said emphatically, "no poop no scope!" It ultimately worked but I felt quite ill for the next 3-4 days.

I tried for years to use natural laxatives and/or otc. stool softeners to no avail. Tons of prunes, stewed or not. Flax seed, and flax seed oil, olive oil, prune juice, prune juice based anti-constipation cocktails, otc. and prescription laxatives - natural or otherwise, high fiber diet, etc, etc, etc. The results were consistently disappointing - either no improvement or very ephemeral improvement, then I'd be back to (pardon my graphic descriptions) feeling like I was trying to give birth to a midsize mountain, lots of bloody, hard stools, "emergency" enemas, tons of bloating and pain!!! (Does the name Gaseous Clay ring a bell? LOL) bad hemorrhoids, anal tears (rhymes with pairs not ears!) clogged toilets and, well, I'm sure you get the idea.

Then my gp recommended a powdered stool softener named Miralax. I was extremely skeptical after having tried both prescription, natural, and otc stool softeners before. In hindsight I wish I'd given her all of the gory details way earlier...But how do you spell relief? I now pass very manageable stools almost every other day instead of every other week. I know it is still a chemical, and is probably not the best thing for most of us to be taking 5-7 times a week but "frankly my dear, I don't give a damn!"

Would I recommend it for you? IF you've tried the other stuff to no avail, YES! Here in the states it is availble otc.- orignal brand or generics (polyethylene glycol 3350)

Will it work for you ??? Beats me. We're all different. If it does please pass the info along.

Otherwise insert jokes about getting the straight poo*, or that I am full of "s*it, etc. here!

Hope this helps!

Plenty of hot or warm water instead of coffee, don't sit for long periods of time, stand up or take a walk. Keep moving. Relax!... Apples and popcorn! THere you go....

Try one or two tsp full of 'sat-Isabgol' granules/powder to be mixed in butter milk before going to Bed every night with Dhanvantari Mantra. See wonders, how it works ! Good Luck, Pallapa Raju, Kesanakurti, Astro Numerologist & Vastu Specialist, Hyderabad-500028, India.
