Bang your drum....

So I started drumming. Hello its me, again! A big thank you to all for such lovely comments. Supportive behavior is so so important especially in a community like this one. You have been quite wonderful.

.... ok enough gushing..... So I am in an underground space, in Berwick Upon Tweed, some old cellars.... under a Warehouse. It has been transformed into a den and this where the band and which includes my teacher the awesome Bob hang out. It has an instant kinda Beavous and Butthead meets Waynes World, meet music room feel. With all the bad (beer bottles, crazy mess, unidentifiable stuff) and good (friendship, fun, talent) under one roof, well a few storeys above!

I was excited beyond words. I have a feeling that by doing this I will stay in better shape. Its a huge physical and mental work out. Perfect for someone with a neuro condition. And that is the point! I have suggested to Bob who is a bit of a film maker to chart the progress.... we shall see! Anyhow today I am off to practice, and my first target is to play London's Calling with the band as a guest drummer on the 28th April...... watch this space!

How wonderful to take part in something like this. You may just have stumbled on a way of helping people to help themselves in an enjoyable way whilst at the same time improving their quality of life.

You will have to be our role model and keep us informed of your progress.

Best of luck.

way to go! I just started to play guitar, with all my problems I go into my garage and strum away, it's a lot of fun even though I have to relearn it every day. the same with golf, go to the range and loosen up...

I like the idea of drumming though thanks

I was taking piano lessons--started to sound like something beautiful when I took my time--then I had torn rotator cuff--although better I haven't gone back to it. Need to find some musical folks to hang around with.

cool and I can tell you its bloomin' hard but so worth it! I managed to get a local band to support me and I get free lessons and lots of care. Its a difficult art for anyone never mind those with failing dexterity but keep at it and give it a chance !

Thanks for your reply. I read in one of yr posts about Internet dating - I have had a go at this (unsuccessfully) - I think to myself "who could possibly be interested in a 65 year old with PD!"
