Methotrexate dosage increased from 4 pills 2.5mg one day a week to 6 pills 2.5mg one day a week, prednisone dosage decreased from 10mg to 7.5mg & omeprazole 20mg I have been feeling like I can't catch my breath since this change. I went to CityMd & they said my vitals were fine. They think it's possible gas, anyone else ever feel like this? I also feel like pain in right hand, upper arm & bottom of right foot has intensified.

Breathing problems
So sorry SassyRA. I was diagnosed with RA in Oct after two months of a severe flair. I have had shortness of breath ever since. I have pain when I yawn and sneeze and get winded just going up the stairs sometimes. I can't take deep breaths. My pulmonologist sent me for respiratory testing and found I have "Moderate respiratory gas exchange disorder". My pulmonary doctor said it's the RA causing inflamation in my lung tissue which limits my ability to take deep breaths, which limits the amount of air getting into my blood which causes fatigue. Also the mtx can cause breathing problems.

So sorry to learn of your breathing problems. About 5 yrs ago, RA attacked my lungs and nearly killed me. With good cooperation between my RA doc and my pulmonary doc, I lived thru the crisis after 5 weeks in the hospital. Now both docs watch me closely and work together. Stay alert to any Significant changes. It is tough but with the right help, you can make it.
I went to see my primary care doctor who is a cardiologist they did EKG & heart sonogram everything came back fine. They think the symptoms are a side effect of the methotrexate so my rheumatologist told me to stop taking for now. I'm hoping this feeling clears up soon.
