My son who is 43yrs old has debilitating back pain, swollen painful feet and legs and is barely able to walk. He has frequent constipation and loose stools. He is awaiting to see a specialist for a confirmed diagnosis.
Has anyone got these symptoms and if so what treatment is recommended. Any feedback would be appreciated.

No previous diagnosis he has been struggling with symptoms for a few years now and his pain is severe. Previously been unable to see GP (fobbed off with painkillers) and only phone consult due to covid. New GP examination suggests chron's and awaiting on tests to be carried out. I am a little confused as I have never heard of chron's with his symptoms just wanted to know does anyone else have the same symptoms.
Prior to me being diagnosed with crohns, no I did not have those symptoms. I know many with people with crohns & none of them had them either. I will say diarrhea & constipation can happen prior to a crohns diagnosis, however, there are a multitude of things that can cause either one. If he takes pain medication, that can cause constipation. Your son has some serious issues going on & he truly should consider finding a different GP. He needs to see a specialist to evaluate his back issues & the swelling of his feet & legs needs to be addressed.
