Hello, crohns patient here since 1971. They didn't have a name for it. Test after test after test, doctor after doctor.
I have just about done it ALL. Do their test and try. I broke down and tried Remicaid. It was good at 1st then I thought I was turning into a mouse. It is derived from mice. My h hair fell out, my skin had lesions and hives.I itched all over.
After church I noticed my left side of face was hanging. ER here I come. Ok, it had knocked my immune system to the floor. I now have Bells Palsy. Not much progress after 5 years.
So bee careful what the doc orders, research it! They will kill ya because they are not the ones experiencing these drugs.
I personally watch everything I eat, don't drink, don't smoke, rest, rest, rest. I do work full time under fmla.
Thanks for reading and good luck.

You have my profound sympathy. I was diagnosed with Crohn’s in 1971 too. I’d been complaining of pain, vomiting and diarrhoea for over a year. In the end I’d lost about two-and-a-half stone, and had an obstruction of the bowel. When the 18” of bowel they removed was examined I had a positive diagnosis quite quickly. I was on Salazopyrin, codeine phos and B12 injections and I managed to live quite reasonably, but always with health problems, until 2012 when I obstructed again. Nine more inches removed and put on Azathioprine. Within an eighteen month period I had to have both hips replaced, I already had osteoporosis because of the problems with absorption, and had iritis.
I itch all the time, and have developed fungal nail infections, warts, urine infections and now, possibly, uterine cancer because of the Azathioprine. Sometimes I wonder if the treatment is worse than the illness?
