Modulen IBD Diet

Hi,

I was put on an exclusive diet of Modulen for my Crohns flare up and have been following it for about 5 weeks now.

Things are improving but my stools are still loose (sorry if that’s TMI).

Has anyone been on this diet and there stools return to a solid form?

If you haven’t already tried it, might be worth asking your gastro nutritionist if giving your small intestines a complete rest from digesting would be worth trying now you’ve given modulen a good trial, ie what about nutricia elemental 028 extra which is complete nutrition broken down into predigested amino acids?

I have a crohns-like enteropathy which all my imaging & lab tests have failed to fullly diagnose (including video capsul endoscopy & MRI of small bowel)

My specialist gastro dietetics & nutrition dept has me on nutricia elemental 028 extra long term and 18 months on my bowels are feeling .+ functioning much better

PS sorry...am a bit slow: was adding a bit above about my case + dietary treatment when you were reading my reply...was also about to add a link to this official info re crohns dietary treatments - it’s the clearest explaination i’ve found of the 3 types of enteral nutritional drink used most to help us. So far i can eat plain rice cakes (the most ultra low residue foodstuff available) while i sip my nutricia cartons...but otherwise can only tolerate a cuppa per day & the odd glass of white
