When I prepare for a colonoscopy or other procedure, I visualize myself, well dressed and confident, leaving the place where the procedure took place.

Thanks jaykay I will try and stay positive

It's prior to procedure when I have to drink the prep

Some say drinking it through a straw helps, drink lots of water so you don't dehydrate and best to have some sedation and pain relief for the procedure.

Thank you

Wonder if I can drink Lucozade

I have opted for sedation

I can't remember but I'm guessing not because of the colouring, no blackcurrant either.

You need Vaseline or nappy rash cream for your bum !!

I think it’s essential that your colon is empty and clean so they can get a really good look. If you take the prep later in the day you really will spend most of the night on the loo, or worse go to sleep then mess the bed. So by starting early hopefully you will have stopped “going” by bedtime and get some sleep. One tip is to fold a large towel in half and put it under your bum in bed, this will help with any mishaps! The prep for me was the worse part, maybe get some moist toilet tissues and very soft toilet roll. Good luck hope all goes well

Had no problem when I had it done, the nurse who sat with me just kept talking to me to keep me calm, she was fantastic, I did not even need any pain relief. Best of luck.

Lilact the prep is the worse part. I have had so many that I lost count. Here in the US they knock you out for it. I have been awake before and it didn’t hurt. I just would watch the screen that the doctor use to see inside the colon. Here in the US the prep starts out 2-3day out with clear liquid diet no red, purple nor orange liquids, then day before the colonoscopy start drinking 1st half of prep around 4PM the 2nd half 6hrs before the procedure. This sends you back and forth from the toilet 💩🚽 this is the hardest part. The rest is easy. 🤗💕🌺🦋 Good luck hope all goes well.😊
