Moviprep?

Anyone had to take Moviprep? Got the pleasure on Monday & dreading it. Consultant said to chill it but the instructions specifically say not to. Does it make any difference (other than to help get it down)?

Can't see how that helps as all preps are disgusting, drinking it with a straw some find helps, good luck !

Unsure of the names of the preps I have taken over the years, all I find fairly horrible, but then a lot of liquid meds are as far as I am concerned. Sometimes it is taste and sometimes with me it is the texture that is a problem. Do remember that a lot of "taste" is in reality the smell, so the old idea of holding your nose, so cannot smell it may help. Over the 30 odd years I have had Crohn's I have got used to closing my eyes and mind and then swallowing all sorts of nasty liquids, for various tests, keeping up my hydration, barium meals and stuff to keep my bowels regular!!!!! I always keep a glass of water by me to rinse out my mouth a few times if it cannot be swallowed. Like a small child I want the lollipop drs used to give me after injections!!

I used bottled water but don't chill it !!I did following which I found help full

I had clear honey and lemon drinks in between and I had small gummy sweets to suck

Also a clove to keep on the mouth helps

But don't swallow the bit's

I drank a whole glass at a time with out stopping so you taste it less

I’m taking it this week too, its OK much better than cleanprep which used to make me gag. You dont have to chill it, just take your time and keep sipping it. It really works so stay close to a toilet. Good luck!

It takes a bit like lemon sea water! You can add a dash of squash to it as long as it's not red or purple. Have another drink nearby so you can take the taste away and drink in between glasses of prep. Enjoy!😨

I had to take Moviprep the day before having a colonoscopy 4 years ago. I distinctly remember making it up in a jug and keeping it in the fridge. I found mixing it with ginger cordial one of the best ways of disguising the taste (it's rather salty) and drinking it through a straw so it goes straight to the back of the mouth instead of the front. It did what it was supposed to!

To be honest you can’t disguise the fact it’s just not nice!! So you just gotta get it down the hatch!! 🤞

I’ve not done it personally this way but I’ve heard some people make it into a jelly and eat it.

My doctor tells me to treat it as a juice.

I drink my prep using a straw because it helps reduce my nausea. I put ice cubes, mint leaves and lemon slices in my prep and it works just fine.

Don’t forget to drink lots of clear liquids between each glass of prep, I personally prefer sweet black tea because it masks the disgusting taste of the prep.😁

Thanks everyone. Someone else has suggested making it up in a small volume (say 200ml), downing that, then drinking the rest of the water (say 800ml) immediately afterwards. Might try that.
