I have had UC for 3 years and been on different medication. I am now on Humira injections and Mezavant. Has anyone else experienced really bad fatigue and loss of appetite. Would appreciate any feedback.

Hi I’m on Humira and get very bad fatigue!! I have Humira every 2 weeks and I’m no good for anything for at least 3 days after taking it. The fatigue is always there but it just varies!! Not sure if that helps or not!!

I have been on Humira for about 10 months now. I definitely notice the fatigue (especially the day I take it) It has helped me to feel better overall though!

Reading the above reply shows that it is the drug causing the fatigue. However the disease itself can also cause fatigue.

When I was on Enbrel before, my doctors could not tell me if my fatigue was from the Enbrel or my disease or both. He said the only way to o ow for sure would be to stop taking the drug, which wasn’t an option since Enbrel put me in ‘remission’ and one is not gonna play around with that. Even in ‘remission’ I had terrible fatigue. I eventually after years of suffering discovered I was extremely deficient in vitamin D. I’m fact it wasn’t even the fatigue that sparked my doctor to test that, it was the fact I was haveing severe unexplained neurological issues. As soon as my vitamin D numbers went up, my condition improved - I am still deficient as I have an absorbsion issue but my numbers going up greatly improved my fatigue.

It sounds though for some fatigue is s direct correlation of taking Humira, since it’s directly after injection the fatigue is felt, then it goes away after a day or two.

Also, I now take Remicade and the day of infusion I am completely wiped out. I loose a whole day of work having extreme fatigue, migraine headache and nausea for most of the day. I just try to keep myself hydrated as I have no appetite.
