The best reason for doing this.....

I have already seen many benefits from doing the plan. I couldn't run 500 metres before I started it and since then I have enjoyed running with a pal (a good runner) done my first ever 10km and about to do another tomorrow. Having suffered a heart attack due to a blood clot at 38, none of this was on the radar until I found the plan.

Today though, all these reasons were blown away as I ran alongside my 4 year old son when he was zooming along the pavements on his scooter. Not only did I easily keep up without losing breath, the sound of him giggling in uncontrollable excitement and laughter will live with me forever. I also know I will more than likely be around to run with him in a few years as he grows up.

Cheers c25k and all those who have supported it and me. I must also change my profile pic as the running has certainly made me leaner!!!!

WOW what a wonderful blog, super results and achievements and oh so heart warming. Be proud young Solihullred and long may you keep on running although not sure how much longer you'll manage to keep up with your lovely son just keep on enjoying it too :)

My legs should be longer than his for a while and I am training for the notts HM so should have a head start despite his limitless energy lol.

Leaner and meaner. It takes a mean dude to achieve what you have. So that makes you a mean dude, dude.

What's a dude?

Lovely blog, well done for getting over your illness; that must have been a shocking life changer; I can imagine the giggles from your son as you ran next to him; my grandson was giggling in the snwo shower as we cycled back from the park, the first time he had been out on his bike attached to my daughters using a trailgator - he loved it! :-)

Good luck for your 10k; looking forward to seeing the new profile pic!

Well I managed the 10km today at a very cold and surprisingly hilly Wollaton Park near Nottingham. Just under 66 mins, 90 seconds slower than Rushcliffe at the start of March but a much harder course. When I manage to get a photo on my PC, i will change it to my profile pic. Thanks for all the messages of support.
