Very inspirational indeed! He moved around better then some 30-40 year olds I know! May he be blessed to continue running throughout his life. Gayle
I liked what he said about child sized portions and eating to live. Something to keep in mind even when you're not on a diet, healthy eating makes everyone fitter.
He is an inspiration however old we are!
At my Parkrun we regularly have an ex marathon runner in the 70-74 group, and often a runner in the 80-84 group.
He certainly inspired me! I watched with awe during Michael Mosley's Horizon programme "Eat, Fast and Live Longer" (tinyurl.com/avsfufq) and immediately started using small plates to eat from. I then started the 5:2 Diet in November after reading Kate Harrison's excellent book on the subject and have lost 40 pounds. I was feeling so energetic in January that I looked for something to get me fit again, found Couch to 5K and I feel that's taken me full circle back to running - something I hated at school and haven't done since.
I start week 9 today so should graduate next Saturday.
I'm 'only' 63!
