Volunteered this week and was a marshall guiding people into the finish funnel which had to be routed over the grass as the normal finish area was sheet ice.

Went for a short run afterwards. Discovered that loose sand over a frozen sub layer is may have more traction that iced asphalt but is hard on the knees and ankles.

Well done, I really must make it w Year's resolution to volunteer at my Parkrun. It wouldn't happen without all those willing volunteers after all.
