Afternoon all. I'm thinking of getting a Garmin (or other) GPS watch to track my results. I don't have an android phone so apps are of no use.
I want something easy to set up, easy to use but reliable and very good value for money! My budget is about £100. I run around my local streets so don't really have problems with tall buildings or trees.
I've seen Foreunner 405s for just on £100 which is excellent value but it seems very fiddly and the battery life is poor.
So, who better to ask than you lovely people who use them and know what you're talking about. Any suggestions and advice gratefully received!

I have a garmin forerunner 110 which is around the £120-30 mark and is simply to use and tells me everything I need. I personally dont need anything all-singing-all-dancing so steered away from the likes of the 405.
However, the new forerunner 10 seems a really good buy for just under £100 on tesco direct or amazon and had a really good review in the latest Womens Running magazine. Simple to use and affordable but doesnt have a heart rate monitor so if you want that then maybe go for the 110.
Happy shopping or maybe Santa will be bringing it for you....!
Hi Dottie! We have the same exact watch that Sue does other than ours came with a heart rate monitor. We love ours! I think you would be very happy with this purchase! Gayle
I have the forerunner 10 and I love it. It only has 4 buttons, one is to light the screen if its dark and one is the 'back' button so there are only really 2 buttons you have to use. It doesn't have a HRM so if that interests you go for the 110 model. I went for the 10 as it has a virtual pacer and I'm trying to increase speed, the 110 doesn't have this. You can alway register on camelcamelcamel.co.uk (it could be .com) and put your desired price range in and it will email you if/when the price falls into your budget.
Speaking of the Forerunner 110, i got an email from SweatShop yesterday saying they've knocked £40 off the price of the 110 and it's now £100 if you fancied the 110 ~ sweatshop.co.uk/details.cfm...
I actually grabbed a 110 myself two weeks ago as Amazon had a great deal on it during their black friday offerings (£70) but it's now wrapped up under the tree waiting for xmas!
Thanks for all the assistance; I just found a 110 with heart monitor on burrowsgps.co.uk for £95.99 + free p & p! That's what I've gone for. Does sound a bit too good to be true so fingers crossed it's all okay. Mind you, I have had 5 e-mail confirmations.....!
