Just back from a gait analysis and spending what would have been 2 weeks worth of fag money on some proper running shoes... :))

Hi becksbinks, do they charge you for the analysis or hint that you should buy their shoes? Thanks ;)

Hi running wild...

The analysis is free if you buy your shoes there which to be honest is a good idea as you get to run in a few to see what suits you best. They charge £25 for just the analysis if you buy your shoes elsewhere.

I found them really helpful and very knowledgeable when it it came to all my questions as someone who is very new to running...hope that helps...:))

Thanks becksbinks, yes that does help, think I will get myself sorted as got mine 'off the shelf.' Good luck with your running and the new shoes! ;)

Many shops do free analysis regardless of whether you buy the shoes from them. Most of the smaller independent running shops I know certainly do as they are staffed by keen runners who genuinely want customers to get the right shoe. I am a city dwellere mind you so I have a fair choice of independents.

Of the bigger chains I know Sweatshop don't charge even if you don't buy- I did just that recently and got really good service even though I was clear from the start I was scouting possibilities & not spending on this visit. It is worth picking a quiet time though

Thanks magicfee23, had 'Up & Running' in mind, see how I get on there. I need advice as have really high arches and know I need a cushioned or neutral shoe, but want to try on first. Thanks again and happy running ;)
