I was just about to start week 9, when I realised i'm losing motivation due to finding the longer runs a bit boring. I know I can do a 30 minute run now, I don't need a graduate badge to prove it
So I've gone back to the start of C25k, and i'm upping the pace.
First run was yesterday and I went back to run 1 week 1, 60 seconds running, 90 seconds walking *8. 20 minutes of activity that I did at a faster average pace this time round than if I had run it all at my usual plod (sub 7 minute 1k pace for the whole lot, compared to 7 minute 1k pace for a full 20 minute run)
I did the 60 second runs at about 14km/h (4:20 min/km-ish) compared to my usual plodding pace of 8.5km/h (7 min/km-ish). I don't expect to be able to keep up that sort of pace for the longer runs, but I really enjoyed pushing myself like that. At the end I was exhausted, to the same sort of level when I first started the course, and it felt good!
The recent runs i've felt tired at the end of the 28 minutes, but within 5-10 minutes I had shrugged that off and felt fine, this time was a bit different and today I actually feel a little bit of ache in the calves, which I haven't felt for ages
Pretty pleased with that, a significant difference to what I was doing last time I did that run.
