Depends what kind of walking it was and how accustomed your body is to it. I regularly power walk up to 12 miles on one of my weekend rest days, and it's not running so I see it as a cross training activity. As long as there is no real fatigue or pain in your legs you should be fine to run the next day

rest days are just a rest from running- you can do anything else. Massage your legs and keep them warm so they don't stiffen up overnight and then go for it!

Thank you both. Just sat for 2 hours watching Anna Karenina and am a bit stiff so I'll see how I am in the morning
