I have just completed my first run for week three. I am not too tired but my calf muscles are killing me. Anyone got any good ideas of how to stop them hurting so much.

I was getting sore right calf after running I found stretching them after my cool down helped. Try

for a guide. I held each stretch for around 40 secs and did three repetitions on each leg anr although the muscle can still be a bit tight afterwards its helped a lot..

Same problem here and i believe it came at week3 too. I did run 1 and 2 of week3. Run 2 had me running awkwardly because of the pain. Then I had 10 days with no running (holiday etc) and I've done my 3rd run last week and bought a pair of trainers - a proper one.
My calves are still "sensitive" and the only body part that really hurt, but stretching before and after helps together with a hot shower/bath afterwards. For extra help, massage your calves with Deep Heat or some Tigger Balm.
Good luck with the training!
