What's a Park run? If I go to the park it usually ends with a cuppa and piece of cake but I'm guessing it's not the same thing?

I like the sound of that. I think parkrunning should definitely be followed by tea and cake. :) Have a look at parkrun.org.uk/ to find out more about parkrun. Basically, they are 5k runs held every Saturday morning and participation is free.

They usually do end with a cuppa if you want. Parkrun is a series of runs throughout the country on every Saturday. They are timed 5k runs. Everyone welcome. To participate you need to register online at parkrun.org.uk. You only register your details once, and you will get a barcode which is used when you finish the runs...

I've got to the "print off barcode" stage - now just need to get over my hill phobia and drag myself out of bed at stupid o'clock on a Saturday morning! ;-)

I like the sound of it if it involves tea and cake :-) !! A friend has invited me to join in one when I've done w9 (I know I couldn't do it at the moment). I need to check out the website and find out where the nearest one is.

My local Parkrun ends just like you say, tea and cake, or in my case coffee & toasted teacake as loads of us gather in a cafe were they sort out the results and we all eat a belated breakfast. Its a smashing way to start a Saturday off. :) You just have to give it a try too.
