I need help to get fit and healthy for no other reason than I'm sick of feeling sluggish

I am overweight and I lack exercise I work and have 2 kids, eat when I come home from work sometimes which is quite late and I snack something crazy. I think if I set myself some sort of goal I should reach it.

I know how you feel, I'm pretty much at the same stage. I have to admit that I love the podcast as I know 100% that I wouldn't even attempt to run if it wasn't structured and didn't have someone giving me instructions. The hardest thing is identifying 3 times when you can regularly run each week, just think you are making this commitment for 9 weeks it doesn't seem as daunting! Read the question asking about people's ages, it really inspired me! Good luck! Xx

I don't think you even need to make it a 9 week commitment. I think it is all about doing each run Laura tells you do - that's each 60 seconds in Week 1, and about getting out there. Have a look at strategies that will work for you eg I don't shower and put my running stuff on first thing on run days which motivates me really well to get that session done so I can get washed and dressed (Yesterday was the first time ever I've had to take the running stuff off and get showered without having that run - good reasons, but it was not a good feeling!) Don't make it C25K a punishment for yourself but a treat - sounds like you really deserve one.

I'm a bit of a compulsive snacker, myself, and whilst I don't have half the commitments that everyone else seems to have, I'm inspired all the more to complete the program. If people with hectic home and work lives can do it, then surely I (a student - although working 7-7 at the moment!) can get off my rear and get a time in for running.

As nicolaclaire says, it's finding the time that's the hardest. I've had to start getting up half hour/45mins earlier to fit the runs in, but it sets me up for the day, and I get to work feeling really upbeat and proud.

Best of luck when you start, and remember, depending on their ages, you could always take your kids out with you!
