I have just started W5 so just ahead of you. The only advice I can give is just dig deep and push through it when you feel like stopping. I have found every run a challenge but isn't that the point of this, to push you a little further than you thought you could go. Keep at it, with determination, a positive mental attitude and Laura will see you through. W4R2 was prob my worst ever run for some unknown reason so I went out determined to prove my inner doubts wrong. Good luck, get yourself a positive mental attitude and knock 'em dead. I look forward to hearing about your success in you next post.

This may be a weird response, but go faster. I am doing this on a treadmill and have jus tcompleted week five. I found on week four that jogging at 8kph was like running through treacle. I found out that it was because I was going slower than a natural pace. I stepped it up to 8.5kph then 9.0kph and found that I was lifting my legs up more and they felt less "ploddy" alternatively I suppose you could be trying too hard so make the opposite would work, slow down a bit. How about a mix of e two? Go slower and alternate with a few spurts of slightly faster jogging. I found that the plodding took it out of me mentally as well as physically

You've proved to yourself that you can run 5 minutes already so your body can do it. It's now a question of mind going along with it and helping you out. I found that if I stop trying to sort out my gasping and concentrate on something else, it gets better. If you're tired out slow right down - and I mean right down. If you actually managed the last five minutes perhaps that's just normal that you find it hard - we all did. By pushing through to the end we're building up our strength and stamina. Very good luck with the next run.

Depends what the problem is, if you are running out of puff and your legs are jelly then slow it down from the start, the idea is to get to the end and not to go so fast you can't finish. If its confidence then run through the runners mantra, are my lungs on fire? Are my legs jelly? Am I feeling faint/dizzy? If the answer is no then kick yourself up the butt and keep going. Break it down to a fixed point ie I will carry on the the next lamp post, then the next one etc and you will finish before you know it.

Good luck
