Just finished W2 with 13 year old daughter, who was so keen she ran with a friend on 'rest' days & now has sore calves. Should she keep running, but observe rest days, or stop until better? Thanks.

She could take a couple of days off till her calves feel a little better, then get back on with her programme, but observing the rest days this time. They are built in for a very good reason! She might need to go back a week when she restarts, but as she still so near the start of the programme that won't be too much of a hardship. Maybe her and her friend could co-ordinate so that they are going out on the same days?

A good walk will help her calves. It should just be lactic acid. A good stretch is to stand on a step/ stair as if you are going up it with the front of your foot on the edge then drop your heels below the step (heel lower than toes) sorry hard to describe but it's a lovely stretch
