I just have to offer a big thankyou to you all for getting me started.
I lurked for a few days, then decided to give this running lark a go.
I am 55, overweight and have been steadily morphing into the tinman from Oz..
Now I have just completed Wk3 R1, although with my dodgy knees I have given myself an extra day to recover a couple of times.
I know I`m preaching to the converted but I am so amazed at being able to run at all I just had to come on and thank you for the tips I`ve taken from your posts. The most helpful one was slowing down.

If somebody told me 7 weeks ago that I'd be able to run non-stop for 25mins I'd have thought them mad. 6 weeks ago I barely made it through 60secs of shuffling waddle. Now I am starting to feel like a proper runner although it's taking longer for my head to catch up with the idea than its taken my body to increase its fitness.
Hi Pitzpalu, your doing great and your head is in the right place to continue the programme. Don't worry about being slow, I run at a snails pace, but achieving 30 mins runs now at week 9 and only 1 run to go! And I am over 50 too.
