Week 4 run 3 finished today but it was a REAL REAL struggle.

In the previous weeks I have been ok. I would complain here and there to myself but I aways managed to push myself and it was ok. When I started run 1 of week 4, it was ok, second run I was tired but it was ok THEN today when i did the last run, I literally nearly gave up, I nearly started walking when I was meant to be running. I stayed strong though and I managed to finish without messing up. When I was walking home I started questioning WHY i was doing this ( I started because I wanted to loose some weight) and I was considering giving up completely.

Has anyone ever felt like this?? I really need some encouragement please, im seriously doubting myself.

:(

Don't give up! Maybe it's a busy week or you may be coming down with something or maybe something else all together....but don't give up! I too am on week 4 and had a great R1 (morning weekend run) had to really work at R2 (after work). I find that I'm running faster this week...wonder if the tunes have a quicker beat?

Whatever....Hang in there! You're doing awesome!

You stayed strong and managed to finish without messing up! Your words! You should be proud of yourself! You've come this far, to quote Laura, dont give up, your doing really well!

You've proved to yourself that you have the determination to finish even when it feels tough and that means you have the ability to keep going with the program and eventually to succeed. You should be congratulating yourself for your strength of mind. Well done !!

Completing w4r3 is such a great achievement, you didn't give up, you are strong enough to carry on.

It could be a number of factors that made you feel you had a rough week, sometimes we just struggle getting in that "zone" and the session is just not a smooth.

Be proud of what you are doing.

You're inspiring others without realising it.

Give yourself a treat for all the hard work you have done so far.

you will be alright, good runs and tough runs, swings and roundabouts. It becomes a battle of body and mind at times, I went through one run shouting at myself :) when you keep moving when that nearly overwhelming feeling of wanting to stop happens, that's the run that teaches you that you really can

Like folks pointed out you DID (underline) finish without messing up :)

you probably just need to get your head around the fact that this actually means you are a runner in the making...

And you are probably a bit nuts :) only nutty people keep doing this to themselves :)

Good things happen to you in Wk5, don't loose heart, take it really slow

It has done me some good to read your post and the great replies. Well done for sticking with it and you can draw a line under week 4 now. Onwards and upwards . . positive thinking now, you have week 5 ahead!!

I done my run 2 wk 4 yest morning in the cold with lovely hailstones at one point! Have been feeling a bit crap since and now dreading my 3rd run tomorrow. Its the 1st time I'm feeling this way! Reading your post has inspired me and I now sense that determined feeling fighting through again. . So well done you, hope I can complete it without messing up too!! Thankyou and keep going.

Thank you everyone so much for the Great comments! I have to admit, im still a little bit scared lol BUT im definetly gona give week 5 a go especially after the encouragement you have given me.

Im just gona take it easy today and prepare myself for the run tomorrow. If I didnt have the support I have on here Im pretty sure I would have given up. Im grateful.

Thank you again

Don't give up. I had a very very difficult run on Monday, week 8 run 1, but I finished it and the sense of achievement I found was immense! This morning's run felt much better for me, so just take each as it comes and you will get there! :)

Noooo don't give up, we have all felt like this, We all have bad days, bad weeks even, I know I do! You just gotta listen to the positive person on your shoulder, not the negative devil on the other one, he's just rubbish! :)

I felt like this too yes, and my reasons for starting the programme were the same as yours. WhenI struggled I went back to the beginning of week 3 and did another couple of runs at that level just to regain my motivation and actually I was suprised by how far I had REALLY come. so try that it might help but above all don't give up, you can do this!! Also remember this is meant to be enjoyed not endured, there's no stop watch and no-one expects you to do it exactly as it comes. good luck. xx
