Mine seems to be anything but! It takes at least 60 seconds for me to be doing anything thet resembles a walk LOL
Is your warm down walk brisk?: Mine seems to be... - Couch to 5K
Is your warm down walk brisk?

In my mind its brisk..........

laughing out loud, I'm with you, the brisk walking left me after wk2! It's more of a wobble back whilst puffing, one foot at a time

mine used to be brisk (well I thought so) now it's just about putting one foot in front of the other to get back to the house.

if my cool down walk is too slow it hurts my legs so I suppose it is quicker than snail pace

I find I need more than 5 mins' warmdown otherwise I go a bit woozy when I get indoors from stopping too suddenly. I try to end my run a good 7 or 8 mins from home, then gradually slow it down till I crawl into the house!
are you hydrated enough? I get that dizzy feeling after a long run if I havent drunk through the run.
Good question Shelley - i haven't been drinking during the runs as I can't bear carrying stuff while I run at the moment, but I do have a drink before setting out and obviously on return. I'm trying to work out how I might carry and drink water without it becoming a pain.
The feeling I get when I stop running is much like what happens when you first step off a treadmill, so I think it's more to do with the motion than anything - not a problem if I take a bit longer to walk it out though. Thanks so much for the advice and the food for thought!
I slow down to catch my breath, it takes less than a minute now. I then walk briskly for 10 mins, which is a cunning plan to avoid ever having to run on a steep part of the route. I actually speed up a bit in my own street in case the neighbours are watching but I stroll once I'm past the gate. I might even start stretches in the garden looking at what is coming up
I think mine might be - but I am happy for anyone to point out my confusion. I can hold a conversation with myself in my head without being out of breath. So that constitutes brisk or mad. But with my brisk 5 minute warm up and brisk 5 minute warm down and a 25 minute run my gps tells me I'm covering 5k+. So why bother with the rest of the programme ;).
