Interesting article regarding knees
🍏What a really good and interesting article which backs up all we advise here. Thanks for sharing and I hope many are able to read it!
Thanks Beach_runner excellent

Thanks Tasha and Beach-runner for flagging this up. There is a significant correlation between the treatment mentioned in the article and the work I did with my amazing physio. I did a lot of hip work too. My knee condition was slightly different (only one knee and it had a plica on it; ouch!) but lots of similarities too. Everyone smiles at this, but I still warm my knee up with a hot water bottle before I run; physio says it stimulates synovial fluid …..it works for me; no post run soreness; being doing that for years!
That is really interesting. Glad you found your fix Beach-runner 🙂
Great Tip Beach Beachcomber, how long do you do this warm up with your water bottle for please ?
10 to 15 minutes. I put a tea towel under the HWB unless I have running tights on! Feet stretched out in front of me on the floor or perched on a foot stool if I am sitting down. After the heat treatment I give the knee caps a short gentle massage. That’s it! Hope it helps. Not too hot of course!!🙂
Thankyou for the info Beachcomber, I might give it a go. Believe it or not, if I eat Sugary things, like sweet cake, chocolate (is really bad) this affects my knees in giving me soreness when I walk or run. If I stay completely off the Sugary stuff then No issues at all. The Sugar causes inflammation in my body especially my knees.
Thanks, good article and explains what we need to do
That’s really interesting, thanks for the link. I do suspect that my inability to hop is more psychological than physical.
Fear of damaging yourself can be really restrictive. I had knee problems about 3 years ago which came on from nowhere, although I suspect from all I've learnt was due to muscle imbalance. Good physio and sports massage, plus self discipline has worked wonders and knees now in good shape. However, there are times I still don't trust them fully or fear damaging them again. Like you, I climb, and it does stop me fully committing to some moves. I've found small steps, just pushing myself gently, helps. Maybe single leg squats may help you build up to being able to hop again?
Great... may I post a link on the Catch-up Corner post today? x
For a shredded meniscus and OA, I have found HRT and jeffing has meant no sore knees for 5 years.
