This morning I had w5r2 to look forward to…
Now, a couple of months ago, when my running had really dropped off, running for 8 minutes had my eyes rolling and the little voice inside my head fighting with….my head…
Nope, I can’t do that anymore..I can only Jeff…..run for a couple of minutes, walk for a couple, run for a couple and repeat…but since week 1 all my runs have gone well, I haven’t had to repeat any…so I’ve been happy…but what’s my secret you might ask? Well…all I’ve done is got my headphones on…whether it’s a podcast or a playlist, something in my ears…haven’t even thought about how long the run is, just run until Steve tells me to stop….today was no different, I was pleasantly surprised when he announced I was half way through, 4 mins had passed and I was feeling good…with a spring in my step & a smile on my face as I breathed in the fresh air and felt every little raindrop on my face…who doesn’t love autumnal running?! Leaves making an Orange, brown and green carpet under foot…misty air hanging low over the canal…walkers wrapped tightly in coats, woolly hats and scarves….& then there’s me…T-shirt and shorts ..sweating like a good ‘un…pink as a tulip…enjoying that head space that running gives me…I had a fab run this morning and guess what? The programme has conditioned me for my next run and I will wear the same smile as I did this morning…bring it on!! 💪
