November's a time made for fresh air and fun.
For kicking up leaves, as we head out and run..
For dodging the raindrops and beating the cold
For showing the wind that we're brave and we're bold.

November's a time for a bit more warm gear
To stay warm and dry, that's perfectly clear.
For making the most of the weather that's fine.
Because Winter is coming, all in good time !

White Rabbits!
Hello everyone... !
Here I am again... cushions are plumped up... the morning snacks are ready and waiting...the drinks are hot, or cool if you prefer and there is some lovely fresh fruit this morning too!
I am not sure how Autumnal the weather is where you are, but in Staffs it has run from the first frost to warm days..., and here in Wales yesterday... it was sweatshirt weather as I wandered around Llyn Padarn!
However, here in the UK, the days are getting shorter, the nights are drawing in and Autumn is upon us for sure.
So... this week, (a good week for me... now on Week 6 and about to do Run 3), I have noticed when reading your amazing posts, a few questions or comments about running, as the colder weather creeps in; mainly about what to wear.
Well. first off, as many running clothing sites will advise... we are all, wonderfully different...Each run we do is different... and , weather forecasts can change... !
It is all to do, for many of us with, layers!
Layer up when beginning... and as the run progresses,,, you can peel the layers off! As the weather gets cooler... I make sure my runder-wear, my socks, my leggings and tee are on a radiator waiting for the heating to come on in the morning. I like to put my warm things on so I am warm before leaving.
Put warm feet into my running socks and shoes and they stay warm.
For me, a chilly but not cold, Autumn Day would mean;
*Long leggings
*Long-sleeved tee
*Lightweight showerproof and windproof jacket.
*Buff and Cap.... large brim.. If it is very windy I have one cap with ear flaps... I dislike cold ears..and chilly sinuses !
Now, I am slightly built and as I am not quite carrying enough weight right now, so I do feel chillier than many when I begin, but as I run and warm up... I can peel... buff.... and jacket... and push sleeves up...I rarely feel cold.
( Winter Garb is different. Base layer and the like...That will come in a later post...)
A key factor too as the season continues is visibility... BE SEEN.... Darker mornings, darker days and night running, necessitates High Viz. gear... and there is loads out there at all prices... just shop around.
I have flashing tabs for my shoes.. and high viz. belt... I don't really run at night, but I do have a head-torch.
So, that is me...!
Now... we want to know what you have been up to this last week... where you are on your runs... whether you are a newbie, halfway through, a repeater or just off the injury couch...how is it all going AND...more importantly... have you thought about the colder runs yet. Have you felt chilly yet...
Any gear that you really love for chilly days, anything you are hoping to get or have as an early gift... or are you a shorts and short sleeved tee, hardy runner... ?
Grab a snack and settle down on your cushion... let's share...
