So I've just downloaded the app again and I'm determined to complete the couch to 5k this time. Every previous occasion I've been put off by knee and foot pain mostly caused by arthritis after a nasty fall left me with dodgy knees.

Does anyone have any help for me with how to cope or strap them up, supports, shoes, etc. I'm open to trying anything this time around.

My aim is to run my first 5k in years before I turn 40 in October

TIA

Welcome, and well done on you decision to start the program. It is not uncommon to have a few knee niggles when you start to run and I also have slight arthritis in my knees (and neck😐)

Have a look through the programme guide.

healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

It's full of helpful information to guide you through the programme and includes a link to knee strengthening exercises which will help .

Enjoy the journey

well done on starting, that's the hardest part.

Sometimes knee pain can come from weak hip muscles too, so make sure you include those in your exercises. A sports physio may be able to help if it's in your budget.
