Today is a winter preview day, as I call it, since it's briefly colder - only 3-4° C today (starting tomorrow, temps are predicted to rise back into the teens...). Since Saturday is one of my 3 running days, I had no other choice than to go out and run. 🥶
And I did! 🥳 Fortunately, I had already some dressing experience since last winter I speed walked outside, so I donned on the layers I thought I'd need. It turned out that I selected just right! I never got too cold or too warm. My legs were a bit cold for a bit and after about 10 minutes they, too, were getting warmer.
I really didn't expect to enjoy this run as much as I did. It was absolutely gorgeous out despite the gray! There are still a lot of yellow and orange leaves on the trees - and the paths are filled with fallen ones (I really need to learn how to take pictures so I can share them here 🤣). Who knows maybe I'll turn from a winter hater to a winter tolerator... too early to tell 😉
With today's run, I completed consolidation week 7. I am noticing how much stronger I've gotten - and how normal running for me is now - 3-1/2 months after I started C25K (although there are still times when I have to pinch myself that I can now run 30 minutes straight!)
Keep running, keep smiling! (Also in memory of Tim / IannodaTruffe with gratitude ...)
