I started C25K back in Sept last year and did my first 5k this morning. To all who worry about running slowly don’t, you will get there

That’s a superb achievement! Congratulations!!! 🏅 🏃‍♀️ 🎉

Look at all those virtual badges too. Did you have the lovely Coach B guiding you round?

Hope you’re doing some serious celebrating 🥳

Thank you! Yes I did, he’s a good guide! I’m even choosing the runs he coaches!

congratulations!!! But who is CoachB? I’ve had Sarah Milican and she’s been great but when I go to the coaches page I don’t see a “Coach B”…..

Thank you. He’s on the NRC app! Once I’d done the 9 weeks of C25K I started to use that app and now ‘run’ with him

thank you so much - I will have a look at that. I’m a very very slow runner - more about the journey than the goal for me but some days I feel more up for a slightly faster run so maybe I’ll try Coach B! Anyway huge congratulations for your achievement and especially for not giving up and inspiring us all with your stamina and patience 😄

Thank you. For me it’s been a recent thing to run a little bit faster. Keep going though you’re doing it!

Well done! I completed c25k back in August and I am yet to complete 5k without walking. Although my pace has improved I'm still slower than you 😂 happy running 🏃

Thank you. You will get there. I didn’t expect to do it yesterday, I set off for a 42 min run and after the 42 mins knew I could run for a couple of minutes longer and then it happened!!!

Thanks so much for posting this. When I finished the course, I was barely doing half of the 5k target in the 30 mins, as I took the whole thing really slowly and carefully - being in my 50s I really didn't want to crock up a knee or something like that. And then the heatwave came and I lost a bit of momentum. I kept telling myself the important thing was the 30 minutes, not the distance, and I would get there, so your post is so encouraging ... thank you again! And, of course: A Really Big Well Done You 👍😀👍

Thank you. I’m in my 50’s too so we’re both doing really well. I never thought I’d be an encourager as a runner!!

When I first started, my running was so slow that my fitness tracker didn't even recognise it as running! 😆 Congrats again on making that 5k, it's a real achievement!
