Evening everyone…hope you’re all doing well…& those of you who aren’t I hope you’re on the mend
Just wanted to share my morning run with you all…
I hitched a lift with my hubby when he set off to work this morning seeing as there’s no school run to do and when I jumped out of the van, it started raining…”YESSSSS!!!!” I thought!!
I thought I’d listen to the radio today for a change…& I was also taking my new, free, shokz open run headphones for their first outing….Early in June I did a survey with a chance of winning these and seeing as one of my children had sat on my other ones, (obviously no-one fessed up to it!!!) I thought I’d give it a go…anyway, without any announcement I got a parcel through the post with these lovely things in! What a nice surprise that was…!! Being a Yorkshire lass I like stuff that’s either a bargain or even better, free..
I’ve been dying to take them out so this morning that’s just what I did…the sound is amazing…
Anyway, I did my warm up briskly up the hill & then set off on a lovely, slow, rainy run…there was nothing spectacular about it, I just ran for 5 mins (an easy Garmin run) then walked for 2 & so on….I ran through the graveyard where I am always saddened by the ages of some of the people that lay there, the babies especially, sometimes more than one in a family within a couple of years, what heartbreak they must’ve gone through…& it always makes me thankful of what I have, how blessed & lucky I am…& just as I got to the gates on the other side out sprung a fox!!! We both made each other jump, our widened eyes locked briefly and then we both ran off in opposite directions!!
Down the hill towards home the rain lashed down but the sun was trying it’s hardest to get to the front of the queue!!
What strange weather we’ve had in the last 7 days, this time last week was the hottest day for decades, me and my pupils were melting in the car…this week the heating will be back on keeping us warm!!
my running has been a bit sporadic over the last few months but I always realise when I do go out how much I miss it…how much I need it…but most of all, how much I enjoy it…running with no distance in mind or any particular route…no worrying about pace..just having a nice time, taking it all in & loving every little minute 😊
So if you’re feeling a bit out of love with running, just get those trainers on and get out there, there’s a world of running right on your doorstep waiting just for you
