how to find running partner
Welcome to the forum and the program!Have a read of the program guide here .
healthunlocked.com/couchto5....
It's full of really helpful information to guide you through the program
As far as finding a running partner is concerned , you could always search for local running groups or C25k groups near you ?
But personally I would suggest you may be better doing it solo !
You are not then relient on other people and you can do the runs at your own comfortable pace without possibly having to push too hard to keep pace with someone else .
But of course , it's a personal choice !
Either way, enjoy the program!
It may be a good idea to check out your local sports/leisure centre as they may have details of running clubs that may help
You've had some great advice... and what better set of partners than those right here on C25K... team up with a few who are starting out, just as you are , and keep each other going with regular posting and exchanging of experiences ! Well done you ... get those shoes on, read all the advice and head out!
Thanks for the comments already guys, will look for local c25k group and keep an eye on this forum for encouragement!
You can get virtual running buddies here who have either just started or will be starting soon.As much as having a buddy is great for motivation, one can become reliant on them or feel the pressure to push harder even when you are not ready. There are pros and cons fir everything, either way all the best!
If you write about your runs here, you'll get plenty of pats on the back or commiseration (as appropriate).
I found the combination of running alone plus the excellent support from this forum worked really well for me. You'll find as you go through the programme and make a few posts about your runs you will naturally find others at the same stage and you can also benefit from the sound advice of others further along in their running journey.
However if you would feel safer or more confident with a real-life running buddy then I'd check out your local running club. Mine turned out to be rather serious and aimed at longer distance runners but I have since discovered that there was a C25K group in a neighbouring town that would have appealed had I known about it at the time.
Good luck whatever you decide and we look forward to seeing you here 🙂
