Maybe a new route as a distraction, or a new playlist/podcast perhaps? Then those 8 mins will fly by ๐Ÿ™‚

Whatโ€™s gone well on your previous runs? Whatโ€™s worrying you about this one?

If youโ€™ve completed all the runs so far, thereโ€™s no reason to think the next one will be any different! Itโ€™s just another run and youโ€™ve done lots of those up to this point.

Good luck!

It feels like a big jump in time without a walking break inbetween. Thank you ๐Ÿ˜Š

Itโ€™s only one minute more of running in total than the first run of week 5. Is it helpful to think of it like that?

The key thing is to take it slowly ๐Ÿ˜‰

This FAQ Post is a breakdown of W5 and was written to allay the fears of those tackling that week's runs healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

None of the runs are particularly any harder than any others, if you have prepared by doing the previous one.

Relax and enjoy it.

Hi, Iโ€™m only a week ahead and apart from taking it slow I would say try not to dread a run if you look ahead into the programme, trust in it and you will do it , itโ€™s fine to repeat runs too just donโ€™t be too hard on yourself. ๐Ÿ˜Š

All great advice above.

I would add that I found saying to myself (in time with my steps) " I can do this, I can do this" definitely helped when I needed an extra boost. But as others have already said - you've got this!

The programme is to get you to run for 30 minutes when running for one minute seemed unreal. Speed is not the most important thing but if you jog even slowly you will have run in 8 minutes probably not less than two laps of a running track, ie 800m or 880 yards in old money. That is a middle distance run. Isn't that amazing! So for your two x 8 minutes you will have run more than a kilometre and probably a mile. Who would have thought?! Get out there. From now on in I could really feel the improvement in my cardiovascular system which is what it's all about. Taking back control of my body and unlocking the potential within. My profile: severe stroke on 13/3/22. Male aged 70 overweight. C25K proud Graduate.

Iโ€™d say just believe! Set off knowing you will be able to do it. Youโ€™ve managed all the previous runs and this is just the next one in the plan. The first few runs test you heart, lungs and muscles but as the program progresses itโ€™s your mind that is trained. Have fun.

Thank you. I did it but I'm going to redo it just the one time as I don't feel like I'm ready for 20mins ๐Ÿ˜ฌ
