After week 9

As next week is my week 9 I’m just wondering what you all did after that, is there an app that you chose to follow or did you just do your own thing. I’ll definitely miss having Laura in my ear keeping me going. 🤣

The suggestion after graduation would be to consolidate your 30 minute runs for a few weeks before pushing on trying to increase speed or distance.Just enjoy your runs and let them become comfortable

Maybe run in different places , just enjoy the freedom .

Then this article may help you decide what you want to do next .

Then there are several running apps you might want to try .

One used a lot is the NRC. (Nike run club) which gives you guided runs of either set times or distances

There's lots to keep you going 😁

Congrats you are nearly there, I just finished week9 it felt amazing. This week I did 2 consolidation runs and hoping to squeeze in another before the weekend is over, I will continue to fit in 2 or 3 then work on distance and time later. I’m just enjoying the moment and not pushing it.

Thank you. I will spend a few weeks doing the same before I try anything else. I will just enjoy the fact that I can run for half an hour which I never thought possible 😆

Once the thrill of just being able to run at your own pace for a while wears off the Nike Running Club app can introduce you to lots of different styles of running and push you out of your comfort zone. I really enjoy their guided runs and have learnt a lot.By the way, you don't have to buy Nike stuff to use the app and it's free!

Thank you! I will check it out, I think that sounds like what I need. I definitely do better when I have a goal in mind. ☺️

I though I would miss the app but I do my own thing. Doing consolidation runs adding a couple of minutes on each week. Thought I would aim for 5k but just enjoying it at the moment

I repeated W9 for a few weeks after graduation, but you get tired of the congratulations. I didn't want to let Laura go either. I found her again in Stepping Stones, (I think), but she'd changed. This was no nonsense Laura. (She did give a great tip about arms that took me from 3.6k to 4.1k in 30mins).

I love NRC, but usually just put 30mins on with no guide. Just calling out of the split times. (I'm usually learning songs for some band or other off a Spotify playlist).

Currently repeating C25K due to injury. Using Strava to track as I prefer to see stuff on computer rather than phone.

Thank goodness you are thinking ahead! I have been basking in the euphoria of achieving the last of my 3 30 minutes runs during the week and didn’t really give what I would listen to during my first consolidation run much thought until I was tying my laces (I was never in the Scouts) Then it hit me … I’ve finished the programme and have nobody to cheer me on… Sarah Millican said her teary farewells on Wednesday WAAAAHHH!!!!!!

Fortunately I didn’t panic and tapped the C25K icon and there it was a Run Again button … Sarah hadn’t abandoned me so I repeated the run and this time covered 2.75 km … a slight improvement so a happy ending 😊 All was well at least in my little world.
