I may be getting ahead of myself but I am away in early April for about 10 days. Strange country and don't speak the language. Hence, I don't plan on running while there (not wanting to put my co-workers in the possibly uncomfortable position of worrying about me). My dilemma is this: I am scheduled to do W9R2 at the end of March; when I leave the program won't be finished. That's okay. But what do I do when I return mid April after a 10 day break? W9R3? Carry on with 30 minute runs? Or take it down a notch?
I know this is a bit far away but I would appreciate any input and advice. Thanks in advance.

My advice would be first run back just go out and see how long you can run for. You don’t lose fitness in the first 2 weeks not running but if you felt happier re doing week 8 that would be fine too
As stated in the guide to the plan, you lose no significant condition in the first two weeks of non running. After that loss of condition is gradual.
All any of us can do after a lay off is to go out for a gentle run and see what we can comfortably manage, then use C25k or something similar to rebuild stamina and resistance to injury.
I totally understand the language worries! Have you had a look at a map of where you're staying? If it turns out that you have a beautiful park or beach next door you may regret leaving your trainers at home!Have a lovely trip
As I replied to Oldbadknees, it's probably not the best idea in this situation as it's work and not vacation....but I would definitely take my runners if I was going on vacation!
Thank you....if I was going on vacation I would definitely take my runners just in case. But this is a work situation and we'll be moving around quite a bit. I don't feel that it's fair or appropriate to put pressure on my colleague, worrying if I am lost or okay. So I'll just focus on my job at hand and continue running when I get home. Apparently I shouldn't lose much fitness - but I'll restart gently and see how I go.
