Well, I had a high hamstring injury, which I think is the same? It took a while, but I saw a physio and did lots of exercises. I never stretch my hamstrings now either. I am running again (I've had a couple of other, different injuries since). I haven't had a recurrence.One of the exercises I found really helpful involved using an exercise ball to do single leg bridges, sliding my leg along the ball. I expect you're getting advice, but I think it's resolvable. Good luck!
Hello... sorry about your issue with the hamstring. Are you already on the C25K programme and if so whereabouts are you with your running?Were you given any exercises with your initial diagnosis?
Hi, yes I’ve been seeing a physio for 3 months and have been doing daily exercises which are very very slowly improving things. I’m literally starting the c25k today….as a test really. I’m a bit scared as so many people and even my consultant have told me that it is very common with this injury for the symptoms to all return when you start running again which leads to having to give up running completely. I guess I am just looking for some positive stories from anyone that has successfully recovered and been running again, even if not marathon distances!
