Back again after a year. Did my first parkrun this morning and really pleased with 42.59. Listened to my faithful trainer Laura on Couch25K. Started off with the intention of trying wk 2 podcast but felt able to keep running through the walks as well as the running parts. Great confidence booster for me.

Welcome back.

Please be careful. It is not clear if you have been running or not in the last year.

We are all capable of doing way more than our bodies are conditioned to do, but not without increasing our injury risk. Sticking to gently progressive training plans is the safest way to push our limits, whilst gently increasing our resistance to injury.

Injury often strikes out of the blue and can stop you for days, weeks or even months.

If you haven't run for several months it would probably be wise to redo C25k, to rebuild your stamina and resistance to injury.

I didn't run it all. I did walk and run which is not clear in the post, and really took it easy. Although not run in a year I walk the dogs so at least getting some exercise but thanks for the advice. Will start C25K again on Monday but from wk1 again?
