Back to the start… Again

I have previously completed c25k twice before firstly in 2019. I had never been able to run and this helped me to get into a running routine and eventually entering races. I recently completed a half marathon in september in a time of 1:59 which i was absolutely made up with as just a year ago i could hardly do any exercise for a short time without being out of breath!!Through injury then being out of a routine and lack of motivation i have found it hard to do any sort of exercise since. On monday i went out with the intention of doing a very easy 20min jog and there i was stopping after less than 5mins completely out of breath. Just done my first run of week one this morning. Looking forward to the journey all over again but i know it definitely works.

Welcome back to the forum and well done on restarting.

Many of us have had to redo C25K from scratch and a slow and steady redevelopment of your stamina, strength and injury resistance is definitely the best way back into running.

This guide to the plan is essential reading healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

and includes advice on minimising impact, stretching after every run, hydration and strengthening exercises, all of which will help.

Enjoy your journey.
