Today was W9R3, regraduation day, and Iβm please to say it was a very good one. π Beautiful morning, good tunes, no niggles, and lots of Strava bling. π₯π₯ In fact, I managed to run my very first 5k this morning. πͺ Each time Jo gave me a time check I knew I was a little further along my route than usual and I was feeling good, so I made up my mind to finally crack that 5k barrier. π
All in all, a brilliant run (reminded me of my first graduation run) just over 5k covered in just over 33 minutes, with 3 PRs for the Strava segments I covered, and 4 PRs for best efforts (across Β½ mile, 1k, 1 mile & 2 miles). π Very pleased with that. Definitely felt like a gazelle type run and once again and I can feel that I deserve that graduation badge next to my name! π¦π¦
Iβve a heavy work week coming up β first time travelling away from home in 20 months β so I imagine that my next run will be Saturday. I may even attempt the local parkrun! Wish me luck. π€
I hope youβre all having an amazing week and thanks as always for the support and encouragement, keep safe and stay kind, SD

Thanks Peter, I was my fastest average pace, which was surprising as I was trying to pace myself for the slightly longer run ahead. Great to finally tick 5k off the accomplishment list π Hope your runs are going well.
Cheers Jericho, was very pleased with that run. Maybe that mythical 30 minute 5k is totally beyond me. π¦ No pressure moving forward, I have to just make sure I consolidate these runs and keep the routine. Hope your comeback runs are going wel. How's work going? You said you're working away from home 'down south'? Whereabouts are you working?
I've been all over London for 6 jobs, job in Folkstone earlier and now we are in Ashford! Back to London in morning for 3 more, then home for the night then job on Leeds Friday π€£π€£π€£! We get around π hopefully get a run Saturday morning, maybe Parkrun.
Just keep plodding out there and you'll eventually start shaving seconds off that time. Don't chase the pace, though, just get lots of miles under you and it'll happen naturally.
Congratulations! ππππ¦π¦π¦ So pleased for you. That sounds(and, from the photo, looks) like an absolutely fabulous outing. Impressive stats. All round: Extra special! ππ«β¨πβοΈπβ¨π«
Yay, bye bye couch to 5K - ππΌ super Gazelle is back with a bunch of PBβs π¦π₯And such a fast time too-easily beating my 34.51-(the disadvantage of having short legs and being ancient.) Enjoy your consolidation runs -donβt go doing a Usain Bolt- we need you in the team ! πββοΈπ€£ Have a good week. ππ»
