1 Run Down… 26 to go…

Apologies for the late post, it has been a manic day with work!

You’ll be please to know that my sister and I completed our first run today… woohoo!

I had every intention to walk to the park but work demands meant I was working right up to my run and after it too. So I felt really lazy from the offset, but I was prepared, I had my water and my fancy phone holder so I could track my progress and my running shoes on!

Nothing was going to stop me…. Until the running started! 😂

We did our 5 minutes of brisk walking, having a nice chat, as sisters do, breathing between paragraphs. The chatting became less and less and by run three we were more like a pair of asthmatic walruses running around the park rather than two sisters going for a leisurely run!

We even tried ‘Phoebe’ running (for the friends fans) and it actually does work! The flailing of arms and legs creates quite a good momentum, but then we realised we were in public and quickly righted our running technique! Heaven knows who let us out!

Apart from one skip of the running time and a few ‘oh my knees’ and ‘ow my ankle’ we were successful in completing our first run!

Next one booked in for Thursday! 😄

Oh, the Phoebe technique is brilliant! You can get away with stuff like that when you’re with at least one other person, cos it’s clearly deliberate, it looks like it’s some sort of drill or exercise; you’d look loopy if you tried it while running alone!

Well done for a good start. It sounds as if you might be more comfortable if you slow down. Most people are surprised at how slow it’s possible to go, they think they’re already as slow as can be, but trust me, you can always go slower and still be running.

Happy running!

Well done TwistedSisters! That’s great news you got out there. I need to Google the Phoebe run, will let you know if I attempt it 😊. Best of luck with your next run 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️.

Good luck with your next run. I’m on my 3rd run of week one due today. So just started out too. I found the first run quite hard and boy did my legs ache after. Fortunately after run 2 I felt a lot better. Looking forward to reading your next post.

Oooh, I’ve just found your write up, and it’s hilarious. Well done both. I’m now following you so I automatically get your next write up. (Don’t work too hard. Glad you managed to make time for your run).
